REC is a major player in the international solar energy industry. It is simply the most integrated solar energy company in the world. It’s May 2006 IPO on the Oslo Stock Exchange raised NOK 6.9bn resulting in a NOK 46.9bn market cap.
Q-cells
This German company develops, produces and sells silicon-based photovoltaic and monocrystalline cells to manufacturers of solar modules. It’s October 2005 IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange raised Euro 313 million for a market cap of Euro 1.4bn.
Celtel
Operating in Africa, Celtel builds and operates world-class communications networks. As Africa’s mobile telecoms leader, it was acquired in 2005 by MTC Group for US$3.36 billion.
Studiocom
Well ahead of today’s trend for online communities and brand interaction, Studiocom has been creating award winning online brand experiences. Since 1998, it has worked with major US brands, winning the prestigious ‘Best Online Community Website’ for CokieMusic.com (now MyCoke.com). Studiocom was acquired by WPP in 2005.
